Keftedes / Köfte


900g Ground Beef
1 White Bread Roll
1 handfull italian Parsley, chopped
1 Egg
1 big Onion, chopped
2 cloves of Garlic, pressed or chopped
10 leaves of Mint, chopped
1 Tbsp. Oregano
1/2 Cup of Water
150g Bread Crumbs
Oil to cook

First soak the Bread roll in Water for about 5 Minutes. Then squeeze out the Water (don’t use the Water any further)

Then mix all the Ingredients in a big Bowl. After combining well, form little Meatballs.
If the Meat sticks to much to your hands, keep your hands wet and the meat doesn’t stick anymore.

Preheat the Oil in the frying pan on medium heat. The Oil should slightly cover the bottom of the pan. Place the Meat balls in the pan and cover them with the lid. Check on them every few minutes and turn until they are cooked well.

I served them with Tzatziki, Pita Bread, Greek Salad, Baked Feta and other dishes
