Ingredients:
200g Brown Sugar (I took the brown Sugar from Jacutinga)
200g Whole Grain Spelt Flour (UrDinkelmehl)
4 Eggs
150g Butter, melted and cooled off
1Pinch of Salt
1Tsp. Baking powder
1 Knob of Butter
4 medium size Apples, organic
1 Cinnamon Stick
2 Tbsp of Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup of Water
1 Tsp. Lime juice
1 Cup of Walnuts, crushed
Preheat the oven on 175C°
Take a cake form and grease it. Then cover the greased form with bread crumbs. Poor the ones out, that don’t stick to the butter.
Wash the Apples, then remove the core and cut little pieces. If you have organic apples, you don’t need to peel them. Put them in a pan with 1/4 Cup of Water,2 Tbsp. of Sugar, Lime Juice and the Cinnamon Stick.
Let it cook and stir once in a while until the apple pieces are soft. Poor off the Water and add a knob of Butter and the crushed walnuts to it and cook and stir for 5 minutes. Then set it aside.
Mix well in a bowl: Flour, Baking powder, Sugar, Butter, Salt and Eggs
Add half of the batter to the form. Cover the batter with the apple-walnut mix, then cover it with the rest of the batter.
Bake the cake for 40 Minutes.
