Caramel – Fleur de Sel Cupcakes (with Dulce de Leche)

makes 24 mini or 12 normal size cupcakes

For the batter:

3/4 cup of flour
1/4 cup unsweetened Cacao powder
1 Pinch of Salt
2 Tsp of Baking powder
1/2 Cup of milk
1 Egg
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of vegetable oil or butter

Preheat the oven to 400F/200°C

Mix all the ingredients from the batter. Stir it for a while until you reach a smooth mixture
Fill the cupcake cups 3/4 with the batter.

Bake the Mini’s for 15 minutes, the big ones for 20-23 minutes.


Make a hole in each cupcake and fill them with Dulce de Leche. Put the cake top back on.



1 cup Butter
1/3 cup Cacao Powder
1/3 caster sugar
Fleur de Sel

Mix the butter, the powder sugar and the cacao until you have a smooth mixture.
After you’ve frosten your cupcakes, sprinkle a little Fleur de Sel over the frosting. and if you like, some mini caramel pieces.
